Assisted CEO and Director of Community Engagement in developing a long term plan to strengthen resident leadership in Urban Edge’s properties and the surrounding communities.  Particularly focused on using existing community services as leadership recruitment and development tools.

Youth Development Network, Northern CA
Provide technical assistance and training to youth resource coalitions funded by the Sierra Health Foundation REACH initiative.  Work with youth and adults to develop strategy and action plans to create community and/or policy change supporting youth development and empowerment.

Sacramento Mutual Housing Association, CA
Trained community organizing staff, designed system to measure outcomes and impacts of community organizing efforts, designed marketing and outreach material for financial education program.

California School Boards Association
Worked with staff to design statewide project to train school board members to engage and mobilize their constituency around critical education policy issues -- including curriculum design, marketing, training, and collaboration development with other stakeholders.

Member of strategy team that defeated two local measures by 80% despite being outspent by over $1M.  Served as campaign spokesperson and developed campaign messages.

Organized and facilitated Countywide Youth Violence and Gang Prevention Taskforce -“Yes2Youth.”

Provided technical assistance in affordable housing planning, marketing and development to board and staff of Fresno West Coalition for Economic Development.

City of Sacramento, CA
Designed and implemented Youth Vision, a project which engaged over 50 teenagers to improve the quality of life for youth in two Sacramento neighborhoods.

Served as interim Executive Director and coordinated search for new CEO: facilitated annual board retreat, provided dispute resolution, secured grant funding, designed and led board expansion and diversification.

NeighborWorks of Greater Manchester, Manchester, NH
Developed Renter Readiness program and curriculum to strengthen resident stability, landlord-resident relations and community engagement in surrounding neighborhoods.  Curriculum based on input and new partnerships between renters, small landlords, property owners associations and local government.

Worked with Dr. John Kretzmann to design and deliver a 1 day training to all county library staff on Asset Based Community Development and how the library system could use the approach to increase its presence in and engagement with its communities

North Country HealthCare, Flagstaff, AZ
Provided 2 day training on Asset Based Community Development for Kresge Community Health Project and Sunnyside Neighborhood Association.  Focused on ways to use ABCD and community organizing to improve childhood health outcomes. (conducted with Mike Green)

Conducted multiple 2-day learning events on Asset Based Community Development: Mobilizing the gifts of people, organizations, and communities to create powerful people and effective programs working together (conducted with Mike Green and Tara Zagofsky)

Provided 2 day workshop on Asset Based Community Development and Community Engagement for staff and partner agencies of province wide early childhood health project.

City of West Sacramento, CA
Designed and provided training for Brtye and Broderick Community Institute.  Seven sessions over 8 months provided emerging leaders and city officials with tools to implement resident driven projects, increase effectiveness of using volunteers, plan and facilitate meetings, transform conflict and work effectively with public officials.

California School Boards Association
Trained school board members and administrators  on how to more effectively engage their communities in local schools, as well as how to mobilize their communities to advocacy.  Also provided training on how to support and implement high quality preschool programs throughout the community in partnership with local schools.
